MAY 2007

WHAT A MONTH WAS MAY 2007

Well where do you start chaps, May 13th Old Trafford, Theatre of Dreams where hope dies last and hammers around the world start singing we are staying up to drown out bıtter manc chants of send them down send them down. Yeah luv it and thats what you pay 5 mill for as you think of Fergie's comments that West Ham were obscene, comments he made way back when we stopped the mancs lifting the title on the last day May '92. Nothing to note from Sir Alex this time cos it was a double party with us celebrating the great escape and them the return of what they regard as thier title, arrogant cunts. anyway it set the summer hols up nice as we all still walking around with these big silly grins on us everytime we see and greet another fellow hammer. I was up Old Trafford and had a great day as I ended up being boxer Big Joe Egan's guest in a manc box, all mancs  they were besides me and Joe's nephrew Tom the one other hammer but fair play to everyone I met, showed me good hospitality and plenty good banter going on around me.saying that there was pure silence and no immediate reply came from out the vocal manc stands when the 3000 strong claret and blue army in the away corner belted out 'We are those bastards in claret and blue'. Tevez my son you can go where ever the car dealer sells yer, your still gonna comeback to a almighty Upton park roar, you are now a West ham legend little fellow. luv the argie man to stay mind and see the damage he and Deano would produce to the opposition next season. Don't expect me to review the season gone even though I never missed a game, I mean where would you start? I2d certainly welcome a player clearout and to some extent that has already happened with the Egg man who I think most of us supporters  felt the most sympanthy for as the words mate you been mugged didn't need spelling out to him. I will say if we had gone down ı dont think amongst us fans there was  the same feeling of hoplessness that came with 2003 relegation, no more like '79 when you felt ok, few new grounds to go to then we're back up.

Certainly the faith in the club with the fans has been restored now we have a chairmen who wants to match the aimbitions of the fans is a big plus and long overdue. The big rise in season tickets is bang out of order and same old West Ham but there you go, faır play to the Sun Campaign and hope they do something similar on rip-off Wembley. Interesting times ahead as and I can't believe I thought this man should have had a crack at being England coach and I also remember he was my choice to take charge of the team that Glen Roeder took down. But the panic buys and uninspiring press conferences and rumours of not having the dressing room means the jury is out going into the first ten games of next season for the hammers coach Curbs. Finally to wrap on a upbeat note, my grattitudes to Mark Noble and Bobby Zamora, two West ham lads who were never obvious first choice calls, but knew what it meant to pull on that claret and blue shirt, wanted to play for us, had the spirit and passion  and determination the fans all luv and some of that must have rubbed off on their team mates as much as the dogged flawless skills of a Carlos Tevez who pulled us up and back in there (and the ginge welsh warrior Collins has got a big heart too). COM'ON YOU IRONS.
